Club History

In They Said We'd Never

In 1980 the Stirling City Council had developed the Carine Open Space from former swap land and had laid the foundations of a football oval.  The founding members of the Carine Junior Football club saw the opportunity to utilise this new sporting facility and approached the Stirling Council for approval to use the facilities.  At very short notice the founders of the Club sought registration, conned founding sponsors to 'invest' in the initial purchase of jumpers and all other equipment required to field teams, and started the first year with approx 100 players and five teams.  The first officially recorded meeting was held at Poynter Primary School on 16 February, 1981.

The Club's Aim: We will provide, to the best of our ability, opportunity for our players to learn the skills of football in an atmosphere of good sportsmanship.

This breeding ground was also reaffirmed in 2010 with five AFL drafts, watch the video (click here) and see who you recognise.
